THE CONCEPT
The saying "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" was never more apropos than for our next event. Based on our love of craft beer, unique wine, and catchy music, we have blended all three equally for our pièce de résistance of fun: Big Beers + Bold Wines + Stroke 9. Unlimited beer, wine and tunes? That sounds like a pretty good way to kickoff Fleet Week weekend!

Is bigger better? Does bold mean superior? Is music more fun when you are drinking and singing along? Uncorked will answer these questions and more in a most festive intermingling of our three favorite things in life: beer, wine and live music.

THE DRINK
Big. Bold. Delicious. But what does that mean? Any beer or wine that has deep complexity of flavor and a unique taste profile.  On the beer front, this could just as easily mean a light colored beer (though many will be darker) - as long as it is big and complex. On the wine front, we could be talking a rich and heady white, though bold and hearty reds will take center stage on this evening.

Big Beer: You'll have the chance to over 30 big and bold craft brews from 21st Amendment, Anchor Steam, Big Sky Brewing, Deschutes, New Belgium, Firestone Walker, Mateveza, Anderson Valley, Lagunitas, North Coast, Green Flash, Big Sky Brewing, Deschutes, Widmer and Sierra Nevada.

Bold Wine: You'll also have the opportunity to sample 40 big and bold wines from around the globe with a focus on zinfandel, syrah, cabernet sauvignon and petite sirah. A few of the wineries that will be there include Peterson Vineyards (Dry Creek), Vina Robles (Paso Robles), Mount Veeder (Napa Valley), Dry Creek (Sonoma), Argot Wines (Sonoma), Nobilo (New Zealand), Ruffino (Italy), The Winery SF
(San Francisco), Colome (Argentina), Meerlust (South Africa), Napanook (Napa Valley),
Graham's Port (Portugal), Pio Cesare (Italy) and Brancaia (Italy).
 

THE BAND
Beer + wine and live music go together like peanut butter and chocolate - a perfect fit. And this is not just any live music - this is Stroke 9. Originally from Marin, they have toured the world for well over a decade in support of their melodic alternative rock. But on this evening, they have something special in mind.  Stroke 9 will perform a handful of their hits including the gold record 'Little Black Backpack'.

The majority of their performance though will be singing inspired and witty covers of hits from all genres. They perfected these catchy classics while playing as their alter ego 'Boys Gone Wild' during dozens of sold out shows around the bay area in recent years.

THE VENUE
The Parlor harkens back to days gone by. This is a modern interpretation of a classic saloon, with walls of gleaming bottles of liquor, lots of dark hardwood and leather and plenty of room to have fun.  Even more telling is their tagline - 'The Parlor: A Bona Fide Place of Hydration'. Add in a convenient location within easy reach of the Financial District, Russian Hill and Marina/Cow Hollow and we present your favorite night to be of the year.

THE FOOD
Big beer and bold wine are even better when paired with appropriate food. Aidells Sausage will be on hand to sample a wide variety of lip smacking meat in a tube. Truly, is there anything better than great sausage washed down with a big beer or bold wine? Well maybe, but this pairing is sensational indeed. Paragon Restaurent will also be there to sample you on there perfectly bold upscale pub food. 

There will also be artisanal cheese and chocolate on hand - two other perfect complements to the evening's liquid treasures.
